I first met Sarah when she asked if I could help her with a surprise proposal at the best of all lookout in Numinbah, NSW. 😍

Sarah told me she planned to propose to her partner, Alyse, at a scenic location.

We discussed a few locations in the Scenic Rim region and hot air ballooning!

Ultimately, Sarah decided on her surprise proposal at best of all lookout in Numinbah, NSW.

It’s an hour and a half drive from where we live in Yarrabilba.

Sarah had checked it out and sent me photos and coordinates, so I knew exactly where to head on the proposal day.

The pictures she’d sent were terrific! Clear views of the valley and the extinct volcano below.

I had visions of beautiful blue skies and a fantastic backdrop.

The weather gods had alternative plans for us, and it was raining on the day. 😂

I arrived about an hour before Sarah and Alyse to hide in the bush rather inconspicuously.

That all went to 💩, though, when I arrived and found it freezing, wet and shrouded in mist and cloud. 😂

I had to pull out my bright pink gym jacket from the car’s boot and hope Alyse wouldn’t spot a neon ninja hiding in the bushes with a camera. 😅

Sarah and I communicated via text, and I said to ensure Alyse was focused on seeing the view and not looking towards the bushes.

So here I was, hiding in the bushes, and a group of young guys came running down the rainforest path, smoking their 🌿.

They were having a grand time and spotted me right behind them after a few minutes. 😅

The lads saw nothing about a drowned pink rat hiding in the bush with camera gear and proceeded to have a full-on friendly conversation with me.

I then warned them that Alyse and Sarah were on their way, and they headed back down the track. 😁

When Sarah and Alyse got to the best of all lookout, Alyse was so focused on the view and didn’t spot me (PHEW!).

It wasn’t long before Sarah pulled out the ring and popped the question!

I then spent some time with them before taking photos in the Numinbah rainforest reserve with them.

During their photo shoot, I couldn’t stop thinking how amazing their connection was and how happy they were at that moment.

These photos have to be some of my favourite images from nearly two decades of photographing couples.

Alyse + Sarah, thank you for trusting me to photograph you both. Thank you for your patience in waiting for your sneak peek, too! This was just the best day ever, and I’m so glad you chose me to capture these memories. Much love! 😍
